PRE-APPOINTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare for your Permanant Makeup Appointment
If you’ve ever hired a professional painter they will tell you that “it’s all in the prep”. Professional painters know that they get the best results when they spend extra time sanding, filling holes, making sure edges are smooth, and applying the right primer.
Permanent makeup is very similar! You will get much better results when you properly prep. It all starts with a good canvas! The procedure area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive, and non-irritated. Here’s how to get your skin ready for the procedure.

Absolutely NO retinol or Accutane for 12 months leading up to the procedure. These products cause the skin to be incredibly delicate and can result in the needle shredding the skin.
WEEKS BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT:

-
Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week before the procedure
-
Do not tan two weeks prior or have sunburned face/skin
-
Do not have any type of facial 2 weeks before treatment
-
Do not work out the day of the procedure or 5 days after.
-
Do not have botox or filler near the area 3 weeks prior
-
Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior (natural blood thinners)
-
Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days before the procedure.
To avoid excessive bleeding and poor color deposit/retention:
-
Do not drink alcohol 24 - 48 hours before your tattoo
-
Do not consume coffee or any caffeine before your procedure
-
Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)

LIP BLUSHING CLIENTS:
-
If you have EVER had a cold sore, we highly recommend talking to your doctor about an antiviral prescription to take 5 days prior to the appointment and 5 days after. The trauma to the lips from tattooing can, and most likely will trigger an outbreak
-
Lips MUST be well hydrated. We cannot tattoo over chapped lips.
-
In the days leading up to your lip appointment, please exfoliate your lips with a warm washcloth daily and keep them slathered in your favorite lip moisturizer.

EYELINER CLIENTS:
-
Please do not use any waterproof makeup 5 days before your appointment. This makes the skin incredibly tough and pigment will not implant.
-
Eyelash extensions must be PROFESSIONALLY removed 5 days before your appointment. Picking them off yourself will result in irritation and swelling. We will not be able to tattoo over irritated skin.
-
Eyeliner can be uncomfortable despite our best efforts to numb. Some clients are perfectly fine, others are not. Feel free to take any legally prescribed anti-anxiety medicine or supplements if you are nervous.
-
Lash growth serums have to be stopped SIX months prior to the appointment. These products will cause sensitivity and excessive bleeding.

DAY OF APPOINTMENT:
-
We keep the studio very chilly, so please feel free to bring a blanket!
-
Wear comfortable clothes
-
Come with a clean face
-
Feel free to bring your favorite makeup to color match for lips or brows.
-
If you are super nervous, feel free to take a prescribed anti-anxiety RX or supplement f you have it.
-
You are not required to wear a mask, but the artist will be wearing one. We see back-to-back faces all day. This is for our safety, as well as yours, and not a political statement.
-
We will send home detailed aftercare instructions, as well as a full aftercare kit to take care of your new cosmetic tattoo. Make sure you save this kit for your touchup appointment as well!
Please don't hesitate to text your PMU artist, Jessica Holy at 254-275-1164 with any questions. Be sure to include your name and appointment type in the messages!
